Transition can be a time of anticipation for what’s ahead! At the same time, we ask what can we be doing to ensure a smooth transition? When a student and his/her team look to life after school, the proven predictor for success is exiting the school system with a job.

The ideal is that the last day of school looks the same as the first day after exiting school, only with different people as supports, as needed. We all strive for transition which has a foundation of the partnership of schools, Vocational Rehabilitation and Community Rehabilitation Providers.

During this session we will cover proven methods for ensuring a smooth transition for our students. Several of the strategies of Customized Employment will be demonstrated and explained as to how these may be implemented during school years and through transition to work.
